Excellent pairing



For dinner last night we had filet of Reindeer, with a redwine sauce, parsnip and vanilla puree, and roasted rootvegetables glazed with a cep-pesto. With that we drank Tenuta Belguardo 2006; a tuscan wine made mainly from cabernet sauvignon with a rich complex animalistic taste, with notes of coffee, tobacco, sage and vanilla.

The big surprise, however, was not how well the wine worked with the food, I was pretty confident it would be nice, but that it went equally excellent with the opened bag of Estrella Pepparchips (pepperflavored crisps) that was one the countertop during cooking. A perfect amis bouche (how do you spell that?)!

Go on, try this tuscan wine, and choose what condiment you want for it, Reindeer or crisps!
