Ernesto: Wise

Here it is. The new Ernesto release: WISE!

Let's just say that it's Intelligent Soul Music (with a big nod to the lovely genre Intelligent Dance Music that is now called electronica). The song is somewhat of a pressure cooker that holds everything in place, without exploding. Then the remix evolves and takes it in a full on dancefloor direction.

It drops on friday (October 1st), but you can check it out already now!

If you wanna hear the DJ Nibc Remix in higher resolution, visit the rakkaus soundcloud page. (If you wanna hear the original in full length and quality before buying, you can watch that space when the release is out.)

Enjoy!

Wanna feel like a VIP?

Then go to soundcloud.com/rakkaus-records and check out the brand new Ernesto song "WISE" - 4 weeks before its actual release!

But hurry. It will only be there for a limited time.

Enjoy!

Tomorrows song and party

And here are the details again for tomorrows release party:
Ernesto @ artspace + us

Artspace + Ernesto

To celebrate the release of my upcoming single SPIN ON written and produced together with Markus Z, my friends at the gallery artspace + us are hosting a releaseparty including a live gig with me, Markus Z, and some top notch backing vocalists. Friday 6th of August. Doors open at 19:00. No entrance fee.

Below is all the info you need about the event:

Singeln - "Spin On"

Rakkaus Release Player

Thought it would be a good idea to post a RAKKAUS RELEASE player, courtesy of Beatport, that automatically updates with the new things coming out on the label.

Enjoy!

Fixed "in the process"

Noticed that the clip wasn't working, but now it should be.

Click here to get to the fixed post, me talking about my angst in the studio.

In the process

Just a little clip, summing up some days of hard work with the new single.

Love Comes Round - acoustic

A little video I did the other evening, sitting at home by my piano and playing the new single - Love Comes Round! Hope you enjoy this exclusive acoustic version as well!

Love Comes to Beatport

I usually post a Beatport player whenever there's a new release (as I like the look and interactivity of it). This time there was some intial trouble finding the release on Beatport, but they've apparently solved that now, so here goes.

The low down on Food Porn

Yes, my new song Love Comes Round is indeed about Love, but primarily about the love of food. The inspiration originally came from the hip hop and r&b artists who wants to show how flash they are, using references to Cristal, Champagne, and Shadow Patrone ... and that's it. That seriously makes you wonder; are these people ever in fine dining restaurants or do they just hang out (like T-Pain) in the VIP area of the strip club? =)

Off course, this is no real beef, but I thought I'd offer a real fine dining lyrical experience. For those of you who struggle with hearing the entire verse - I'm now posting it here!

Stay with me, I can hold you

and make you a bechamel

Sautée the vege, roast the beets,

doing my braising, then rubbing it in

If I'm your spice then it will be

a three course meal,

grand cru chablis,

chrevre terrine, sliced real thin,

topped with thyme and thyme again

Platter of the following:

Duck, veal, scallops, tuna, eal,

chased down by vermouth and gin,

I've got just 'bout everything

I give you quail, I give you love,

I give you frills, I give you dove

everything you're dreaming of,

old school Bordeaux

or new world

Scratch the surface's what I've done

We aint even into fusion

Let me dream it, imagine love

coming in, so let me serve

While your love comes round tonight...

That's the kind of food porn we're talking about here. :)

Haven't got Love Comes Round? Buy it now on iTunes.

Thanks!

I've deliberately tried to keep my gig-count low this season, because I have been busy with other things (theology, family, setting up my label etc...). So it's a good thing that when I do perform, it's in lovely places like Moment yesterday. Thanks to all you guys who made the evening possible - both promotors, organizers and all the happy wonderful people who arrived! Thanks for everything, and I hope to return soon to Crakow!

Yours truly

Jonatan/Ernesto

Ernesto Sings

Hi all!

Last year I was in the process of trying to put together an album (for a label that shall remain un-named) under the name Ernesto Sings. One of these have already been put out in Japan a few years back. The basic idea was to do a compilation of various collaborations I've made through the years for those who didn't know one track but knew another (that's what happens when you work with a host of different producers).

Anyway, the album never left the ground and I've decided - while you're waiting for my first release on Pinku's and my label Rakkaus Records - to put together a playlist that gathers some bits available on Spotify.

Please enjoy!
