Adding to the Favorite Flavas

Yesternight I did one of my rare evening sessions (I tend to use exclusively during the day), together with extremely talented mr Erik L, putting down some vocals for the new Favorite Flava album. Favorite Flava, for those who don't know, consists of Erik L, Paul Mac Innes (aka Psaul) and Stray.

However, before this collab drops on record, you can checkout two brilliant remixes by ERIK L and STRAY included in my upcoming Rakkaus release: ERNESTO "LOVE SPIN WISE LIES", released next friday (19th of nov). (And you can already check out Pinku Vääty ft Paul Mac Innes' brilliant take on Ace of Base's "All That She Wants" on Rakkaus.)

Now the first Pinku Vääty release is up on Spotify. Only took the guys 6 weeks after release. Way to go. Make money... or maybe no?

In order to stay true to my recommendations I'm working to get the first Rakkaus release up on Spotify. However, as it probably well established by now, people don't actually make any kind of reasonable living off of Spotify. Below is a link to a pretty interesting article, stating that in order to make the equivalent of the US minimum wage in a month, your song would have to be played 4,5 million times on Spotify that month, to generate the equivalent revenue. For some releases however, I would earn both the "label" and "artist" revenue; it probably only would take me 3,5 million plays. :)

So basically, if you - like me - live in an industrial country and happen to like the music we're putting out on Rakkaus: Please muster the 4 euros/dollars/pounds to buy the first release. You may off course listen with Spotify (as soon as the people at Spotify choose to publish the tracks me and my distributor has in fact already supplied them with) as well or as a substitute. But at least now you know the score.

Ernesto Sings

Hi all!

Last year I was in the process of trying to put together an album (for a label that shall remain un-named) under the name Ernesto Sings. One of these have already been put out in Japan a few years back. The basic idea was to do a compilation of various collaborations I've made through the years for those who didn't know one track but knew another (that's what happens when you work with a host of different producers).

Anyway, the album never left the ground and I've decided - while you're waiting for my first release on Pinku's and my label Rakkaus Records - to put together a playlist that gathers some bits available on Spotify.

Snow!

There's a lot of snow right now in Sweden. Probably the most I've ever experienced for as long as I've lived in Gothenburg. And apart from that Snow, there's a lot of Miike Snow in my headphones right now. Wonderful indie-not-indie by "the band" of Bloodshy, Avant & Co who usually produce Britney Spears and Madonna, and the likes. Check out the album on Spotify. I highly recommend the song "Silvia". To what extent the song is a declaration of the boys' love for the Swedish queen remains unclear.
